This is a book podcast I recorded related on the theme “Being the New Kid.” In it, I booktalk the two titles When You Trap a Tiger  by Tae Keller, and New Kid by Jerry Craft. I created this podcast for my 2021-2022 podcasting elective, which is being held in partnership with the Mock Newbery elective we have each year in the library. This year, the students in the elective are also going to learn the basics of podcasting (including script writing, recording best practices, finding rights-cleared sound effects, and editing). Students will be expected to record one book review podcast about a book on the Mock Newbery contender list. This podcast was used as an example in the elective, and was played for the group during one of the opening meetings.
